The Funeral Dinner Ministry is one of the largest groups of volunteers in our parish. With over 200 volunteers, the ministry is divided into 4 circles (St. Monica, St. Martha, St. Michael and St. Vincent de Paul). Each circle is able to serve in rotation which eliminates the same volunteers being called too often. Each circle consists of a “leader” and a group of volunteers who are called to serve as helpers/servers and/or provide food. Not only does this ministry provide a nice meal, but most importantly they provide a comfortable setting where the bereaved family is able to gather and in most cases are able to “reconnect” with relatives not seen for a long time. This group does not meet, but an annual letter informing and confirming the parishioner of the services they have volunteered. Communication is handled through phone call, email, text messages and annual letter.
